New Release: Alan Walker Featuring Gavin James - Tired

Tired (feat. Gavin James) - Alan Walker |

Again, today saw lots of new music get released, but not many have music videos, so I struggled to find one that did. I stumbled across this one from Alan Walker, and he proves, yet again, how incredible his music is. The video matches this, giving us war images and shows that love truly can win out. The visual is pretty similar to his previous efforts, and the song follows the same sort of suit; regardless, this easily gets stuck in my head and I'm sure it'll get inside yours too. Watch this war explosion of a visual in this Alan Walker music video for "Tired" which features Gavin James.

Alan Walker is quickly becoming a DJ we all know and love. He hit it big in 2015 with "Faded" and ever since, he has released catchy singles one after another; although, they have not been raging chart successes, unlike his previous first hit. However, they've charted well in his home country of Norway, where he has topped the charts three times to date. He also became virally known when he collaborated with Sofia Carson on "Back To Beautiful", his remix of which was chosen as her official single release of the song. I truly believe he will continue on with his success, and I can't wait to see what the future brings for him. "Tired" is in collaboration with Gavin James, who is an Irish singer-songwriter; he had a global hit with "Nervous", and his debut album charted moderately well in certain countries. This song is expected to chart well, and Alan Walker has been teasing it a lot recently.

Directed by Alexander Halvorsen, the music video is a subtle narrative music video, which we have come to expect from Alan Walker.

There's not an awful lot going on in the visual, we see that war is going on and there's a group of people who need to connect something to the power supply.

We see that our two main characters are into one another as they keep looking and smiling across. It's quite powerful to know that even though they're hiding behind a hood and a cloth that is covering their mouths, you can tell by their eyes that they are smiling.

We see some sexual images of the two characters together. They are played by Sarah Gindel Jabang and Daniel Peralta. Eventually, they manage to connect to the network and we watch a timer count down the minutes until impact. When it reaches zero we see all the lights go out.

Overall, this music video isn't easy to understand and the reasons why is hidden behind the visuals; regardless, the video is interesting and engaging. It makes you want to know what's going on; that is definitely what makes this music video special. Yet, it's confusing and hard to understand, with many repetitive scenes.

Sofia Cason Featuring Alan Walker - Back To Beautiful

Back to Beautiful (Alan Walker Remix) - Sofia Carson |

After writing up an article about her new music video on CelebMix, I had to include this on my blog too. It's a complete stunner of a music video, that definitely proves that Sofia Carson is the next big thing to come from the Disney Channel. You may recognise her from Descendants where she plays Evie, or from Adventures In Babysitting where she plays Lola Perez, or maybe the A Cinderella Story: If The Shoe Fits where she plays Tessa/Bella. Either way, she is totally bringing it when it comes to music. In this music video, Sofia Carson pulls on everyone's heartstrings for this music video. She proves this is where she needs to be and how much of an amazing performer she is in "Back To Beautiful".

Sofia Carson first came to my attention after she brilliantly nailed the role of Evie in the Disney film Descendants. She will be reprising her role in the sequel film, which is expected to come out summer 2017. She has been dipping in and out of acting and music for quite a while, having released her own version of "Rotten To The Core", whilst releasing original songs "Love Is The Name" and "I'm Gonna Love You", the latter of which was a promotional single. She is planning on releasing a debut album sometime soon, so I'm excited to see what other tracks will be on that said album. The Alan Walker remix was chosen as the official single, over the Stargate remix, which is why Alan Walker has become the featured artist. He has really come into his own as a DJ, after his internationally successful "Faded". He's definitely a DJ that will go far in the music industry. This song was written by Alan Walker, Julia Michaels, and Justin Tranter.

Directed by Emil Nava, this music video is quite haunting during the verses before an unexpected dance sequence hits off beautifully; lighting up the entire place.

It has a Disney feel to the music video, what with the long staircase and the table. Let's not forget the mirror as well, which is a great link to Evie in Descendants, since her mother is the Evil Queen from Snow White. Regardless, Sofia Carson brings it once again for this music video.

She's got a perfect performance vibes leaching out of her and being received perfectly by the viewers. Sofia Carson is one hell of a performer, connecting completely with the song and portraying it honestly on the screen. I love the stage scene, which is where she belongs, although I would've loved to have been in one of the seats; an exclusive performance just for me.

Overall, this music video is a brilliant portrayal of the song, and we are all going back to beautiful because we deserve to. It's a great inspirational meaning behind the song, especially considering her target audience, and she totally nails it throughout. Shame there isn't a full narrative, but we can't have everything.

New Release: Alan Walker - Sing Me To Sleep

Alan Walker is back with another banging tune. This new release is one of those songs that will do well on the UK chart, especially after the amazing previous hit "Faded". Alan Walker wastes no time, keeping up with his style, this follow-up single to "Faded" is just as good, if not better. Another search is on, set in Hong Kong, with freaky visual tones, everything is not as it seems, Alan Walker collaborates with Iselin Solheim once again for this perfect tune, that won't be singing me to sleep.

Alan Walker hit the charts hard with single "Faded", but the question on everyone's lips is whether he will be a one hit wonder. Guess this English/Norwegian star has proved everyone wrong. This tune is just as good and although may not chart as well as the previous single did, it will still make a global impact. The vocals come from Iselin Solheim, once again. This is quite the team and her vocals perfectly matches the song. She is a singer in her own right in Norway, but this collaborative effort might bring more popularity to her.

The music video was directed by Rikkard & Tobias Häggbom. It features four actors who are Shahab Salehi, Zenobia Hamrin, Henry Tang and Yam Wai Sang.

The video is weird, and difficult to follow as we navigate the streets of Hong Kong. Four characters are clearly on a mission, They are scouted to meet somewhere, to which they connect some unseen items that brings light to the city.

If that isn't confusing enough, scenes are distorted either through infrared or a visual waver. These characters are seeing something different to us, and at times it looks like someone is following them. Although this never is the case.

Overall it's a confusing narrative that fails to connect to the song. This could literally be paired with any song and it wouldn't make a difference. However, it is clear that Alan Walker has a theme going on when it comes to his music videos... Or maybe it's just the directors' ideas, guess we'll have to see what happens in future music videos.

Chart Mondays: Alan Walker - Faded

Mike Posner is still at number one with "I Took A Pill In Ibiza" and after worrying I will have a repeat of last week and not have a single music video to review, I find Alan Walker's Faded, hiding in at number seven on the UK chart. This song has had great chart progression, although I reckon it may have hit it's peak this week. Derelict, deserted, abandoned and lost, this guy in this Alan Walker video is walking around in this disaster area searching for something that has faded.

Alan Walker is from Norway, but is English as well as Norwegian. He is a EDM producer and has had a worldwide hit with this song. This song is a remastered version of the original "Fade". He was spotted on YouTube, where "Fade", "Spectre" and "Force" were released under NoCopyrightSounds, before Sony Music Sweden signed him up and released this new version, which features uncredited vocals by Iselin Solheim, who is just starting her career. This song was written by Alan Walker, Jesper Borgen, Anders Froen, Gunnar Greve Pettersen.

The music video was directed by Rikkard Häggbom and Tobias Häggbom and was filmed in Estonia amongst some well known derelict buildings.

It is a scene of beauty, something that has been damaged and lost to the world, so empty that you can literally feel and see that life once lived here, but no more.

A guy stands alone, searching for something lost, something faded. The actor in this video is Shahab Salehi.

At the end, he finds the building in the photo he has in his hand, which he then drops to the floor, and slowly removes his mask. Is he upset that the building isn't still the same? Or is he giving up his life as his purpose has been served. We can presume he kept the mask up to keep himself from consuming the possible poisonous air whilst roaming, but now he's found that building, and it's faded.

Overall, deep and meaningful, with stunning shots of derelict buildings lost because of the world we live in. Definitely eerie and quite lonely, the video stands perfectly alone, faded in it's own concept and yet fails to keep us engaged entirely.
